SSPC-/NACE-Normen

SSPC (Society for Protective Coatings) and NACE International (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) developed globally recognized standards for surface preparation, coatings, and corrosion protection. In 2021, the two merged into AMPP (Association for Materials Protection and Performance).

Where are SSPC / NACE standards applied?

These standards are widely used in:

• Oil & Gas – offshore risers, flare booms, topside piping.
• Petrochemical & Chemical plants – process vessels, reactors, insulated pipelines.
• Marine & Offshore wind – deck areas, turbine towers, hull details.
• Infrastructure & Power – bridges, cranes, boilers, turbines.

• NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 – materials in sour service.

Today these are being harmonized under AMPP standards, but the legacy SSPC/NACE numbers are still referenced in project specs worldwide.
