The customer challenge: safe blasting in an ATEX zone<\/strong> Last week, our colleagues Wiebe Vermeer (Business Developer) and Bart Steggink (Senior Sales Engineer) set out for a special demonstration. The goal? To showcase how the Pinovo blasting machine and tools from Allmet Safety Tools contribute to safe and efficient work in ATEX zones. This time, the destination was Eemshaven in northern Groningen, a journey made challenging by snow and cold weather but incredibly valuable for the customer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The safety advisor at the company was already familiar with the Pinovo machine from a previous project. Impressed by its safety and efficiency, they wanted to test how our solutions could be applied at a plant in Eemshaven. The challenge? Safely removing chromium-6 coatings <\/a>in an ATEX zone without disrupting operations at the plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The demo: blasting without downtime<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Typically, we host customers at our training center in Dordrecht, but due to the distance, we decided to visit the customer on-site. Once there, Wiebe and Bart demonstrated the functionality of the Pinovo blasting machine in a closed circuit. This setup prevents hazardous particles, such as chromium-6, from being released into the environment, which is crucial for ensuring the safety of both workers and the surrounding area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also showed how working in parallel can save time. Immediately after blasting, coatings can be applied, reducing project turnaround time and minimizing the risk of accidents. As we often say: \u201cThe safest work is the work you don\u2019t have to do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adapting on-site<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although the original plan was to conduct a demonstration, the customer required immediate support in using the Pinovo machine. Thanks to Wiebe and Bart\u2019s certifications, they were able to step in and operate the machine themselves. This customer-focused approach is something we at Perspect Group take great pride in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A succesful day despite the snow<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Despite extreme weather conditions, the Pinovo machine proved its reliability once again. Its closed system and robust performance make it an indispensable tool for safe surface preparation in sensitive environments. This day highlighted how innovation and flexibility go hand in hand at ATEX-Tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
