Pinovo Vacuum Blasting Technology Officially Validated for Chromium-6: SEEF Works Confirms Safety and Reliability
NORWAY / THE NETHERLANDS Pinovo has taken another important step in industrial safety. During a working visit to Norway, Wiebe and Nico from Pinovo Netherlands discussed the successful results of the Chromium-6 certification with the team. The validation was carried out by SEEF Works B.V. on behalf of Perspect Benelux B.V. and confirms that Pinovo’s vacuum blasting technology can be safely and reliably used when working with Chromium-6 containing coatings.
Extensive Testing at High Chromium-6 Concentrations
SEEF Works tested the Pinovo technology on specially prepared test plates containing high concentrations of Chromium-6 (Cr(VI)), reaching levels of up to 25,000 mg/kg.
Measurements were conducted in an enclosed space without ventilation in order to simulate a worst-case scenario.
The results demonstrate that even under these extreme conditions, the Pinovo technique generates only minimal levels of Cr(VI) in the breathing zone. In addition, all wipe samples remained below the detection limit, confirming that no Cr(VI)-containing dust was found in the surrounding environment.
“These results show that the Pinovo method, in combination with the correct PPE and safety measures, can be demonstrably applied safely when working with Chromium-6,” says Wiebe from Pinovo Netherlands.

SEEF Works: “Meets the Highest Safety Standards”
Based on the test results, SEEF Works concluded that the Pinovo vacuum blasting technology meets the highest standards for safety, health and environmental protection.
The technology has been assessed as a reliable and responsible solution for removing or treating surfaces containing Chromium-6 coatings.
SEEF recommends that users verify the application of the technology annually through exposure measurements, in accordance with legal requirements for CMR substances, to ensure that safety remains structurally safeguarded.

Certification in Cooperation with Perspect Benelux B.V.
The certification was carried out in cooperation with Perspect Benelux B.V., which acts as the exclusive partner responsible for implementation and training.
Only personnel certified by Perspect are allowed to work with the Pinovo technology for Chromium-6 removal. This ensures that operators receive the proper training and are able to minimize emissions of hazardous substances during operations.
Looking Ahead
During the visit to Norway, discussions also focused on developments toward 2026, where Pinovo aims to further optimize its products and processes.
Among other developments, the PiHab adapter will be further developed to obtain dedicated certification so it can be added to the official Chromium-6 certification.
